Life was good then…

When we were born in a loving family and everyone used to shower affection on us. When we identified relatives basis the gifts that they got us and our parents asked us to recite the latest poem we learnt at school. They were happy to see us fumble and shy away and lure us with a chocolate. When we cried because we dint want to go to school and our parents would always go to drop us to the gate. whenever we turned around to see them leave.. life was good then..

When we made friends at school for simple reasons. when we played any game with anyone in our class. When we all were scared of one particular teacher but always naughty in other classes. when our seniors used to tell us which teacher to be afraid of and we followed them blindly. When our biggest fear was failing a school test and getting the answer sheet signed by dad. When prayers in school assembly and school anthem instilled in us a sense of belonging and loyalty. When anyone who won us a house game would instantly be our hero. when the head boy of the school was held in awe. Life was good then…

When we were in love for the first time. The girls used to be lot more prettier and emotions were valued more than six pack abs. When lying on the bed alone, we used to think of the beautiful time we spent together today. When on birthdays we used to spend hours selecting a greeting card and used to give it with a hand written letter, to be conveyed to her by a friend. When calling at night was fun because there was only one landline which everyone in the house use to use and we couldn’t risk our parents overhearing us.. When every song had a meaning attached to it and suddenly our playlists changed as soon as we knew what her favourite song was. When logic took backseat to emotion… Life was good then..

When we went to college and found ourselves new set of friends. when we made our first choices in life. When we bunked classes to watch movies and snuck around in hostel during night to rag our juniors. When our discussions were more about what would I do when I have 30000rs salary. When having a mobile phone was still a social status symbol.. Life was good then….

And we’d feel the same…every time we look back…for everything gone by…from wherever we are!
